Eiffel who? Head for the twinkling lights of Eagle Farm on Friday, July 19 for Un Soir En France – a gourmet food and wine escape you can take an Uber home from.
Kick things off from 6:30pm with a classy Kir Royale cocktail and an amuse bouche of duck and apple paté and baby cornichon on brioche (we’re going to need a few of those babies).
Come dinner time, the three-course meal (all with paired wines, of course) will kick off with a sole fillet paupiette with a salmon mousseline, white tomato, green peppercorn, shallot and beurre blanc – bonjouuuuuuur butter.
It might be summer in Europe (as everyone on Instagram has made very clear), but here in Brisbane the winter warmers aren’t going astray! Slip into a main of slow-braised beef cheek with truffled Paris mash, red wine reduction, roasted veggies, and thyme, paired with a juicy GSM blend from the Côtes du Rhône.
Among the joie de vivre, enjoy live entertainment by world folk quartet Estampa, who’ll be on hand to provide sweet tunes to evoke fond memories of that time you strolled (or dreamed) your way through the alleyways of Paris…
The entertainment doesn’t end there, though, with dessert being classic crêpes Suzette with orange caramel and Grand Marnier flambéd at a tableside demonstration (easy on the eyebrows, please).
Think you can-can squeeze in another bite? Un Soir En France will see you off to perfect French-fullness with mignardises of perfect assorted macarons (no, not Macron)!
With five courses with paired wine, live entertainment, and more Frenchy feels than you can poke a baguette at, Un Soir En France is the holiday you didn’t know you needed (but can definitely afford) at just $155 for Brisbane Racing Club members, or $160 for non-members.
Just like the earlier editions of their dinner series that sold out, seats to Un Soir En France are moving quickly – buy yours here tout suite to avoid disappointment. Bon appétit!
