But that car food doesn’t have to be a half-warm toaster strudel that you quickly grabbed on your way out the door. With a little prep work the night before, you can have something delicious that will actually provide you with some fuel for the day ahead.

Introducing: no-bake peanut butter granola cups. Not only are these bite-sized breakfasts perfect for a busy adult on the go, but they’ll also make the perfect snacks for kids’ lunches, after-school treats or 3 p.m. pick-me-ups at the office.

In order to make these treats, you’ll first need a cupcake pan to give the cups their shape. Then, make sure you’ve got granola, peanuts, honey and peanut butter on hand. These ingredients will create the peanut buttery, crunchy base for your new favorite breakfast.

Once the ingredients are mixed together well, you’ll press the mixture down firmly into the cupcake cups. Leave a dent in the center of each one to create a little room for the filling. Pop the pan into the freezer for a few minutes. Once they’re firm, add melted peanut butter and chocolate into the dents you created earlier and freeze again until set.

One batch makes 12 cups. You can store the treat in the fridge or freezer until it’s time for you to rush out the door, taking your yummy portable breakfast with you.
